Export everything Stocky lets you export
Stocky's reports section is where your exportable data lives. There's no single "export everything" button — each report type is a separate export.
What this step does not cover: supplier records. See Step 2.
Capture your supplier data manually — this is the step most merchants miss
This is the single most important step in this entire playbook. Suppliers cannot be exported from Stocky in any format, under any method — Shopify confirms this directly. If this data isn't manually documented before the shutdown, it's gone.
Decide between Shopify's native tools and a dedicated app
This decision depends entirely on how you actually used Stocky — not on a feature checklist. Be honest with yourself about which features you used regularly versus which ones just existed in case you needed them.
Shopify's native admin is probably enough if:
- You have a small number of SKUs and one or two simple supplier relationships
- You mainly need basic purchase orders and manual stock adjustments
- You never relied on Stocky's forecasting or automatic reorder point calculations
You need a dedicated app if:
- You relied on automatic reorder point or demand forecasting calculations
- You manage multiple suppliers with different lead times
- You operate multiple locations and need coordinated transfers and reporting
- You want deeper reporting (ABC analysis, dead stock, vendor performance)
Test before you commit
Whichever direction you choose, validate it before fully switching over:
Run in parallel for a few weeks before fully cutting over
Don't switch everything over the moment you've set up a new system. Running your old and new approach side by side for two to four weeks lets you compare reorder suggestions, verify lead times are configured accurately, and catch configuration mistakes before they affect a real order. Switching cold on August 31 with no comparison period is the most common way migrations go wrong — not because the new tool is bad, but because nobody verified the inputs were accurate before relying on it.

Can I get my Stocky data back after August 31, 2026?
No. After the shutdown date, Stocky stops working entirely and access to manage or export anything inside it is lost. Any data not exported or documented before that date is gone.
Do I have to choose a replacement app, or can I just use Shopify's built-in tools?
It depends on the store. Shopify's native admin handles basic stock tracking, manual purchase orders, and inventory adjustments, which is enough for simple, low-SKU operations. Stores that relied on Stocky's automatic reorder calculations, multi-vendor lead time tracking, or detailed reporting will likely need a dedicated third-party app.
How long does a Stocky migration actually take?
For most small to mid-sized stores, exporting data and documenting suppliers takes a few hours to a day. Choosing and configuring a replacement, then running it in parallel for two to four weeks before fully switching over, is the realistic full timeline, starting at least a month before the planned cutover date.
Can any app automatically import my data from Stocky?
Purchase order and stocktake history can be imported into some apps if exported as CSV first. Supplier data cannot be automatically imported anywhere, because Stocky does not provide an export path for it to any third-party app. This must be manually re-entered regardless of which replacement system is chosen.
