Shopify inventory app comparison

Stockroom vs Supremo

Both products address inventory operations, but their public positioning differs. This comparison separates Stockroom’s published claims from Shopify’s migration guidance and Supremo’s documented scope. It is based on public materials, not a hands-on product test.

Important Stocky migration caveat: Stockroom says its ZIP importer can include supplier data. Shopify’s Help Center says supplier records cannot be exported from Stocky. These claims conflict in the public documentation. Verify the actual ZIP contents and importer results before relying on supplier migration.

Stocky migration: separate workflow replacement from data import

Stocky stopped operating on August 31, 2026. Shopify says read-only access to export data lasts for at least 90 days after that date; it has not published an exact end date. Shopify also says supplier records cannot be exported from Stocky.

Stockroom’s migration page advertises importing a Stocky ZIP, including supplier data and purchase-order history. That is a first-party vendor claim, and the supplier detail conflicts with Shopify’s public documentation. Inspect your available archive and confirm the fields Stockroom will import before depending on it.

Supremo does not offer an automated Stocky import. Choosing an app to replace a workflow does not mean that historical purchase orders, supplier settings, or stocktake records will move with it. Shopify also says historical Stocky POs do not import into Shopify as past transactions.

Frequently asked questions

Can Stockroom import data from Stocky?

Stockroom advertises an importer for a Stocky ZIP export and says it can bring in supplier data and purchase-order details. Shopify's Help Center says supplier records cannot be exported from Stocky, so the public claims do not fully align. Check the ZIP you can actually download and confirm the imported fields with Stockroom before relying on a complete migration.

Can Supremo import a Stocky export?

No. Supremo does not currently offer an automated Stocky ZIP or CSV importer. Its Shopify inventory workflows use current Shopify store data; historical Stocky purchase orders and settings need to be retained or re-entered separately as appropriate.

Is Stockroom free?

Stockroom currently describes its app as free with unlimited usage. MyWorks accounting sync is a separate paid product. Confirm current terms on Stockroom's site and Shopify App Store listing before choosing.

Does Stockroom have manufacturing and lot tracking?

Stockroom publishes pages for manufacturing workflows and lot tracking, but those pages label the capabilities as early access. Confirm availability and fit directly with the vendor before treating them as production-ready requirements.

Which app should I choose?

Compare the workflows you use, not just feature lists. Stockroom is worth evaluating if its advertised Stocky importer, purchasing features, or public MCP/API capabilities fit your needs. Supremo is focused on Shopify inventory replenishment, purchase orders, suppliers, locations, stocktakes, reporting, and order fulfillment. Test the required workflows and verify migration scope before switching.
